STATIC AD GUIDELINES
CONTRAST: Contrast must be extreme when producing your slide. DARK BACKGROUNDS with LIGHT COLORS FOR TYPE MUST BE USED. We do not use light backgrounds.

COLORS: We DO NOT USE THE COLOR RED FOR TYPE. Red does not show on-screen and blends into the background of the image. Pantone colors project differently on the theatre screen.

COPY AND TYPE: Use 15 words or less per slide. BOLD, THICK FONTS MUST BE USED. Fine, delicate fonts get lost. Upper and lower case letters are easier to read.

GRAPHICS: All graphics should be original pieces of art andof the highest possible quality.

ACCEPTED FORMATS INCLUDE: Photoshop images with an extension of .psd, .jpg, .tif. Illustrator images with an extention of .ai & .eps *All digital files must be in RGB color mode and at least 300 dpi.

DISKS: (Floppy/ZIP/CD) Artwork is to be saved in RGB color mode with resolution of at least 300 DPI. Please include copies of all fonts and of all graphics used in the document. Include a hard copy of the image as a production reference.

EMAILING IMAGES: Please email all images to production@cinemaads.com with your company name as the subject line. Please include your Sales Representative name and the insertion date you wish to go onscreen within the email.

You must email images at 300dpi. We would prefer that you email .jpg files. Please do not email files larger than 10mb. If files are too large you may try to zip them using the program Winzip on the PC or stuff them using the program Stuff-it on the Mac.

SLIDE SPECIFICATIONS: All slides must be in a ratio of 6" wide by 4" high. There must be a 3/8" black strip across the top and bottom of the slide. THIS LEAVES A 3.25 LIVE AREA. The black strip on the top and bottom will not be seen on-screen. Pin striping or framing should not be used to outline the perimeter of the ad design.

FILE SPECIFICATIONS: Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark (mac or pc - templates available through the link above.) We strongly suggest that you create your slide in Adobe Photoshop and send it as a 300 dpi .jpg. This ensures that your image will be easily placed within our template and your graphic and text elements will not be converted or distorted in any way.

If you create your slide in Quark you MUST convert that document to an .eps. Open the .eps in Illustrator and convert the type to outlines and save again. This ensures that all of your text and images are locked within the Illustator document and we will be able to open the document without anything missing. Next, export the image as either a .jpg or .tiff at 300 dpi in RGB color mode. If you do not have Illustrator please make sure that all of your fonts and images are included within the CD/Zip/Email that you send to us.

PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN WITH A DIGITAL CAMERA: Choose the best possible quality setting on your camera. All digital cameras are set using pixel measurements. We require the pixel measurements to be at least 900 x 600 (we would prefer higher if at all possible.) The higher the pixel measurement the better the photograph will look on the movie theatre screen. More Pixels = Higher Quality.

PRODUCING A COMPLETE ANIMATED SLIDE TO BE SENT TO HOLLYWOOD ADS: All animation must be done in Flash. Animated slides can be in either split screen or full screen format. The split screen live area is 768 x 576 pixels. The full screen live area is 1024 x 576 pixels. Animation must be at 12fps and be 10 seconds in length, making the entire ad 120 frames.

FILE SPECIFICATIONS: At this time we are only accepting completed swf files.
